Mystery Adventure Theatre
Mystery Adventure Theatre was going to be an update of the classic Golden Age radio serials for the podcast age. My good friend Michael Schultz came up with the idea and world. Unfortunately, life sidelined him at the time, and after writing the first couple episodes, he gave me permission to go ahead and run with it.
It was around that time that another friend of mine, Mark Haden Frazer, got involved. He and I bounced ideas back and forth until we had seasons' worth of storylines. The plot was dense and complex, but we always set out to make each 15-minute segment stand on its own as much as possible.
We wrote scripts for up to halfway through the second season, which, in hindsight, was probably a mistake, as we did not yet have a voice cast. Between that and our our respective chaotic and dissolving lives, the project sat unfinished.
It may be that way forever, which is unfortunate, because where we were going with it is still a story I feel needs telling. Which is why I'm putting the scripts up here under a Commercial Commons license. Maybe someone will want to do something with it. Maybe there will be enough interest to get the project going again. Or maybe not. But at least they're out there.
